About Neil A. Carousso:
Neil A. Carousso is an award-winning journalist and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Carousso Enterprises, LLC, which specializes in live events and media production. Neil is also an associate producer of “Elizabeth Vargas Reports” at NewsNation – America’s fastest-growing cable news network – where he has also supported the launch of an original digital program called “Kurt’s Country” in July 2024. “Kurt’s Country,” hosted by Kurt Bardella and produced by Carousso, celebrates country music lifestyle and features interviews with celebrity artists.
Before joining NewsNation in January 2024, Neil covered business news and politics at WCBS-AM New York for more than six years. He earned numerous awards for his coverage of local news and U.S. elections, including a recognition by Radio Ink Magazine naming him one of Radio’s 30 and Under Superstars.

Neil made his mark at WCBS by booking and interviewing celebrity entrepreneurs, including “Shark Tank” stars Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec and Kevin O’Leary.
Neil produced a national quarterly business event for Bloomberg and Audacy – the parent company of WCBS, WINS-AM, WFAN-AM & FM and more than 230 stations nationwide. “Decision Makers,” co-hosted by Bloomberg anchor Carol Massar and rotating Audacy journalists, featured exclusive conversations with top U.S. business leaders and executives.
Neil helped launch a weekly primetime radio show with WCBS anchor Lynda Lopez in June 2020. The 880 Weekly Rewind explored the most consequential stories of the week.
A special 880 Weekly Rewind show on January 8, 2021 covered the deadly insurrection at the Capitol two days prior. Carousso and Lopez won numerous awards, including a prestigious Gracie Award for “Chaos in the Capitol – A Nation Divided.” This special program was nationally syndicated across Audacy stations.
Neil was the lead video producer at WCBS, traveling on-location to add digital coverage to St. Patrick’s Day parades, Fleet Week and New York Mets baseball.
While at Audacy, Neil was the executive producer of the Mooch and the Mrs. podcast with former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci and his wife Deidre for its one and a half year run. He spearheaded on-location programs at Scaramucci’s SALT Conference in Las Vegas in 2019 and his Hunt & Fish Club in Times Square with prominent guests including Chris Christie, Maria Menounos and Brian Cashman.
Neil is a passionate and energetic leader who uses his skills in journalism and business to make a positive impact on people’s lives. He has advocated for veterans’ healthcare and tells many of their stories in his reporting. He also works with several veterans’ organizations and volunteers at the Northport VA Medical Center on Long Island. He is also interested in mental health and bringing awareness to stigmatized issues of depression, anxiety and suicide through his work.
Neil got his start in media at a young age. He created a school newspaper in junior high school before becoming the public address announcer for Saint Francis Preparatory School in Fresh Meadows, Queens at the age of 12. The “Voice of Saint Francis Prep,” developed SFP TV to stream school events and games. Neil fulfilled various roles at SFP TV, including executive producer, play-by-play announcer, news anchor and reporter.

As a high school student, Neil led marketing and public relations campaigns, securing a sponsorship deal with the Queens Courier newspaper and inking strategic media partnership with MSG Varsity where he also worked as a guest play-by-play announcer alongside Rich Ackerman.
As a student at Long Island’s Hofstra University from 2013-2017, Neil was a manager, producer, and on-air talent at its college radio station WRHU-FM, which reaches New York City with its signal. Neil recruited, coached and nurtured student broadcasters, led the morning drive news team, and executive produced and hosted on-location programs at the Belmont Stakes and the National Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in Cooperstown, NY for three consecutive years.
With the mentorship of legendary broadcaster Ed Ingles, Neil transcended WRHU’s variety morning talk show into a substantive and entertaining format, hosted by well-informed and engaging student hosts, including himself. The show allows for lively news, sports and political talk with notable guests plus breaking news coverage.
In addition to his role as Morning Wake-Up Call producer and host, Neil produced and anchored “Newsline,” the Associated Press award-winning evening news broadcast. He also reported on business news, which earned him a national ranking as a reporter from the prestigious Hearst Corporation.
Neil led WRHU’s political news team as a producer and senior reporter covering the 2014 gubernatorial election, the 2015 general elections and the 2016 presidential election. He traveled across the U.S. to cover the 2016 presidential primaries. Neil’s political reporting also aired on 103.9 LI News Radio (WRCN-FM) – a commercial station on Long Island.
He reported and produced coverage of the 2016 United States presidential election for WABC-TV New York, CBS New York, and independently via Carousso Enterprises’ platforms. Neil also worked at Fox News Channel in New York City during the 2016 election year, producing segments for “The Five,” “The Greg Gutfeld Show” and “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”
Throughout various leadership positions at NewsNation, WCBS-AM New York, WABC-TV New York, Fox News Channel, WRHU-FM Hempstead and independently, Neil has consistently demonstrated a track record of enterprise reporting and producing with the diligence, focus and storytelling qualities needed to engage audiences and produce high ratings.
Neil graduated from Hofstra University in 2017 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism with Minors in General Business and Political Science. Neil resides in New York. He enjoys fishing, watching and playing sports, exercising, traveling, live music and entertainment, and spending time with family and friends.
